✨ Grant Focus Areas
Applicants must pursue opportunities that provide significant career impact in one or both of the following areas:
- Introducing work to new audiences
(e.g., exhibitions, performances, screenings) - Developing new skills
(e.g., residencies, conferences, masterclasses, workshops)
💼 Eligible Expenses Include:
- Travel costs related to the opportunity
- Equipment rental or purchase
- Professional services (e.g., lighting, sound, costume)
- Shipping and prep for exhibitions
- Registration or participation fees
- Documentation (e.g., photography, video)
- Childcare costs necessary to pursue the opportunity
✅ Who Can Apply?
At the time of application, all applicants must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Have lived in Oregon for at least 12 months
- Not have received this grant in the last 3 cycles
- Not be enrolled in a degree-granting program
- Apply as an individual (not a group)
Want to apply for additional funds (up to $9,000) from The Ford Family Foundation?
You must also:
- Work in visual arts, craft, writing, or curation
- Have lived in Oregon for 36 months
- Show 5+ years of professional experience in your field
