About The Grant
The City of Marfa, Texas, is offering an Advertising Reimbursement Grant Program to support tourism and the hotel industry. This grant is available to groups and businesses to help them promote events that draw overnight visitors to Marfa. With funding coming from the Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT), the grant focuses on reimbursing costs for advertising, solicitations, and promotions aimed at audiences outside the local Tri-County area. Grants range from $1,000 to $10,000, with a maximum reimbursement of $3,500 per award.
Priority will be given to organizations that rent Marfa’s Tourism/USO Building or Activity Center, as well as those events that show a strong ability to generate hotel bookings. Eligible advertising includes regional or national publications, radio spots, and other marketing aimed at attracting overnight guests to local hotels and lodgings. All reimbursement requests must be supported by invoices and a post-event report submitted within 30 days of the event.
